Around 70 medical students, who had been stranded at the Torkham border since October last year, finally returned to Pakistan after political intervention.Their academic sessions in Afghan institutions had ended weeks prior, prompting them to seek repatriation.

Despite restrictions on pedestrian movement, local elders and ANP leaders, including Sherin Khan Afridi, facilitated their return by engaging Islamabad authorities.Upon arrival at Torkham, the students were welcomed by border officials and provided with food before being transported to their cities.This incident highlights ongoing challenges with cross-border mobility and the role of political diplomacy in resolving such crises.
