Elderly couple found fatally stabbed in Queens apartment; police continue investigation with no arrests
Veteran actor James Hardy, 81, was found dead with a stab wound to the chest outside a residence in the Tarzana neighborhood of Los Angeles on the morning of June 3, 2026, according to police.Authorities said officers responded after receiving a 911 call around 9:30 a.m.from a man who allegedly reported the killing.During the call, the suspect reportedly made a statement claiming responsibility for the attack.When officers arrived, they were approached by 44-year-old Michael Gledhill, who identified himself as the person involved in the incident.Gledhill, who lived at the residence with his mother, was arrested and later charged with one count of murder.Police indicated that Hardy was his mother's boyfriend.Hardy was pronounced dead after being discovered unconscious outside the home.The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not publicly released additional details regarding a possible motive.Hardy had a long career in film and television.He was recently recognized for portraying bartender Jimmy in the 2022 film “Top Gun: Maverick.
