The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called for full transparency regarding the N7.13 trillion recorded as 'energy security' expenditure in the 2024 audited accounts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.).The party, through its National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi, is questioning the beneficiaries, payments, and outcomes of the spending.They highlighted a 14,800% increase from the previous N48 billion pipeline surveillance contract, which sparked public outrage.The ADC is also scrutinizing links between Tompolo's Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd.and his role in President Bola Tinubu's re-election campaign.

They warned that public funds for pipeline protection must not be used for partisan activities, emphasizing the need for accountability and independent audits.The party stressed that Nigerians deserve to know the value received from such a massive expenditure.This demand underscores growing concerns about transparency and misuse of public funds in Nigeria's energy sector.
