Fresh leadership wahala don break out inside the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after the Dumebi Kachikwu-led faction announced the dissolution of the National Working Committee (NWC) linked to former Senate President David Mark.

The decision was taken during the faction’s national convention held for Abuja as different groups inside the party continue to struggle for control ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Even though the Supreme Court recently upheld the leadership of the David Mark camp, the matter no still fully settle because another court case concerning the party leadership is still before the Federal High Court.The legal dispute involves the David Mark group and another bloc led by Nafiu Bala Gombe.During the convention, the Kachikwu faction announced a fresh set of national officers for the party.Abdulkadir Mohammed Bashir emerged as national chairman, while Kennedy Odiom became national secretary.The faction also confirmed Chris Ugwu as national publicity secretary and Kingsley Ogah as chairman of the Board of Trustees.

The group equally adopted the ADC 2018 constitution as amended, saying the move go help reposition the party and prepare am better for future political contests.In his acceptance speech, Bashir blamed the party crisis on selfish interests among members and leaders.He said ADC remains one of the few opposition parties capable of challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).Bashir also appealed to party members to support the new leadership and promised inclusive leadership that would carry everybody along.According to am, the party remains open to all Nigerians interested in political change.
