NIS tackles visa violations and illegal stays by foreign nationals in Plateau
The embattled Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeyemi Adeniyi, has declared readiness to face charges related to the scandal involving allegations of a fake presidential council and potential involvement of President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, Adeyemi insisted he is not hiding but expressed concerns for his safety, citing several attempts on his life.
He stated, “I’m definitely ready to face the charges against me; I’m not hiding, but I fear for my life because there have been multiple attempts on it.” Meanwhile, a U.S.
-based lobbying firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, has offered to assist Prince Adeyemi in seeking asylum in America and called for an investigation into his allegations against senior Nigerian officials.The firm’s representative, Dr.
Von Batten, had previously shared posts on 𝕏 expressing interest in speaking directly with Adeyemi and supporting his asylum or whistleblower protection applications.This development follows growing pressure on President Tinubu to address the ICPC probe into PFIPC’s activities.
The scandal has intensified scrutiny over the council’s legitimacy and its alleged ties to high-profile figures, raising questions about political interference and accountability.
