Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote, has decided to build his proposed East African oil refinery in Kenya instead of Tanzania.The facility, with a capacity of 700,000 barrels per day, will be the largest in East Africa and one of the biggest on the continent.

Once operational, it will supply refined petroleum products to Kenya and neighboring countries, reducing regional reliance on imported fuels and enhancing energy security.

The project is expected to boost Kenya's position as a regional petroleum hub, create thousands of jobs, and stimulate growth in transport, logistics, and petrochemical industries.Dangote's choice ends speculation about the refinery's location, which had previously favored Tanzania.
