Minister S.Savitha, heading the Department of Handlooms and Textiles, reiterated the Andhra Pradesh government's commitment to bolstering the state's handloom and handicraft sectors.

During her visit to the Andhra Pradesh (Lepakshi) Pavilion at Bharat Tex-2026 in New Delhi, she emphasized expanding market access for artisans, encouraging innovation while preserving traditional skills, and facilitating participation in national and international exhibitions.The pavilion attracted over 3,000 visitors and generated 120 business enquiries, with proposals for design collaborations and export partnerships.

The Minister also announced the inauguration of the newly renovated Lepakshi Handicrafts Emporium on July 17, 2026, aiming to showcase Andhra Pradesh's rich handicraft heritage in a modern retail environment.

The event will feature prominent officials and highlight the state's efforts to sustain and elevate its artisanal industries through strategic initiatives and global outreach.
