Supreme Court upholds strict accountability standards for judges and says damaged credibility warrants dismissal
In a significant development from Lahore, an Anti-Terrorism Court has convicted several senior leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf including Dr Yasmin Rashid, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Mahmood ur Rashid and Ejaz Chaudhry, sentencing them to 10 years imprisonment each.Former Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has been acquitted of all charges in this particular case.The verdict was announced by ATC Judge Manzar Ali Gul inside Kot Lakhpat Jail where the accused are presently held.
