The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized opposition parties for failing to meet the initial deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for submitting candidates for the 2027 elections.

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, APC accused the opposition of not being ready for the polls, citing the extension of the deadline as proof of their organizational weaknesses.

While INEC extended the deadline to July 14, 2026, following an appeal by the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), APC emphasized that they successfully submitted their candidates before the original July 11 deadline.
