Ariana Grande has confirmed her departure from the upcoming season of American Horror Story (AHS), which is set to premiere on September 24, 2025.The pop star, 33, was initially expected to star in the 13th season of Ryan Murphy’s horror anthology series, alongside returning cast members such as Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Evan Peters, Billie Lourd, Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe, Frances Conroy, and Leslie Grossman.However, production for the season was moved to dates conflicting with Grande’s Eternal Sunshine Tour, forcing her to exit the series.The singer had not filmed any scenes, according to Deadline.The highly anticipated season 13 will premiere on FX at 9 p.m.ET and will be available to stream on Hulu the following day.Grande’s tour, which supports her 2024 album Eternal Sunshine and its 2025 re-issue, includes 41 shows across the US and UK.
Meanwhile, the new season will welcome actors Paul Anthony Kelly, Berto Colón, and Joey Pollari, while the returning cast members were announced in an October 2025 teaser clip.The series, which first premiered in 2011, continues to explore themes such as haunted houses, witch covens, and cults within its fictional universe.The decision to exclude Grande follows the critically mixed reception of season 12, which featured Kim Kardashian in her first major acting role.
