PSG to receive replica Champions League trophy under UEFA rules after win over Arsenal
Arsenal ended their 2025/2026 season on a bitter note after losing the Champions League final to Paris Saint-Germain on May 30.Mikel Arteta's team started strong, taking an early lead within six minutes thanks to a goal from Kai Havertz.
They managed to contain PSG's attacking threats for most of the game, but eventually Khvicha Kvaratskhelia forced a penalty that Ousmane Dembele converted, leveling the score. The match went to post-match penalties where Arsenal missed crucial kicks from Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhaes, handing PSG the victory.
Financially, Arsenal had done very well throughout the competition, earning significant amounts from the league phase and knockout rounds, including bonuses for winning all league matches and being top-ranked.However, losing the final meant missing out on an extra £5.63m (KSh 985 million) bonus that PSG now claims.Overall, Arsenal earned around KSh 16 billion from the Champions League campaign, not including TV revenue.
Arteta admitted the pain of being so close to winning Europe's biggest club competition, emphasising how narrow margins like penalties can define outcomes.
