Governor Uba Sani Appoints Key Officials to Strengthen Kaduna State Governance
Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration of systemic governance failures, citing the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA) leadership crisis as a symptom of broader institutional disorder.
The controversy centers on Dr Dakorinama Alabo George, who refused to vacate his role as BCDA Executive Secretary despite being replaced by the presidency. His withdrawal from APC governorship primaries allowed Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas, Tinubu's appointed successor, to assume office but faced delays.
Atiku condemned the administration for creating a national spectacle where official appointments lack enforceability, questioning how a president can publicly appoint a leader yet allow them to retain authority.
He linked this to previous controversies like the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) leadership confusion and the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) fiasco, arguing these incidents reflect a deeper crisis of coordination, competence, and accountability.
Atiku urged Tinubu to prioritize national interests over re-election campaigns, warning that continued governance failures risk Nigeria's credibility as an investment destination.
