The African Transformation Movement (ATM) has announced plans to approach the Constitutional Court for clarity on the implementation of the Section 89 impeachment process against President Cyril Ramaphosa.This follows a Western Cape High Court ruling that granted Ramaphosa an interim interdict, halting Parliament's impeachment inquiry hearings.ATM legal team is instructed to seek judicial guidance to resolve constitutional uncertainties arising from the court's order.

The party emphasized that their application is not a challenge to the judiciary but a lawful step to ensure legal certainty and uphold constitutional obligations.They clarified that the interim interdict does not exonerate Ramaphosa from Phala Phala allegations, which remain unresolved.

ATM stressed the need for urgent Constitutional Court clarification on whether lower courts can suspend its own orders, highlighting broader implications for judicial-parliamentary relations and constitutional supremacy.
