The BBC World Service has announced that it will host the BBC Future of Journalism Festival in Nairobi, Kenya, on July 9 and 10, 2026.The free two-day event will take place at the Chandaria Centre for Performing Arts at the University of Nairobi and is designed for students, aspiring journalists, media professionals, and anyone interested in storytelling and the future of journalism.The festival will feature panel discussions, practical workshops, networking opportunities, and a live podcast recording.
Participants will explore major developments shaping modern journalism, including solutions-focused reporting, investigative journalism, artificial intelligence, podcasting, and the growing influence of social media.The event will be hosted by Myra Anubi, presenter of the BBC World Service program and podcast 'People Fixing The World'.Attendees will have opportunities to interact directly with speakers and industry professionals during dedicated networking sessions.
The festival will conclude with a live recording of 'People Fixing The World', providing insight into the production of international podcast journalism.
