BMW South Africa has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) offerings by introducing the iX2 eDrive20, an entry-level compact SUV in its premium lineup.The model joins existing EV options like the iX1 xDrive30 and plug-in hybrid X1 xDrive30e, providing consumers with more electrified choices.Powered by a single electric motor delivering 150kW and 250Nm of torque, the iX2 eDrive20 claims a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 8.8 seconds and a top speed of 170km/h.Its 64.8kWh battery offers a WLTP-rated range of 470km, with charging capabilities up to 130kW DC.The vehicle is equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems, including Driving Assist Professional, Parking Assist Plus, and a head-up display.Standard features also include adaptive LED headlights, a panoramic roof, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Priced at R1,300,000, the iX2 eDrive20 comes with a five-year/100,000km Motorplan warranty and an eight-year/160,000km high-voltage battery guarantee.This launch underscores BMW’s commitment to growing its EV presence in South Africa’s premium market.
