Bumula MP Jack Wamboka has been reshuffled from the influential Public Investments Committee (PIC) to the National Cohesion Committee by the Azimio Coalition, following ongoing bribery allegations.This move comes barely a month after Wamboka was suspended as chair of the PIC Governance and Education Committee.

The suspension arose after witnesses alleged that Wamboka demanded bribes in exchange for favourable treatment during committee hearings, and that officials appearing before the committee faced intimidation.

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) raised concerns over his conduct, prompting the case to be referred to the National Assembly’s Committee on Powers and Privileges.

Wamboka has protested the suspension, claiming he was not granted a fair hearing and hinting that political rivalries may have influenced the decision.Despite the reassignment and the allegations, the MP maintains his innocence while investigations continue.

The reshuffle, implemented by the Azimio Coalition under Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, has drawn attention to the need for accountability in parliamentary committees and the ongoing scrutiny of MPs' conduct in Kenya.
