Education Cabinet Secretary Migos Ogamba has issued a stern warning to school principals against collecting unapproved levies from parents.During Education Day celebrations at Mbiriri Comprehensive School in Nyeri County, Ogamba emphasized that any new school charge must be approved by both the ministry and parents before it can be collected.He highlighted that institutions charging fees without proper authorization risk facing disciplinary action.

The CS stressed that schools must follow a defined process: first presenting proposed levies to parents for endorsement, then submitting them to the Ministry of Education for formal approval.

This comes amid growing concerns about rising school costs in Kenya, with parents previously reporting unauthorized charges beyond government guidelines.
