Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand will visit Pakistan at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, marking her first official trip to the country since taking office.

This visit is significant as it is the first by a Canadian foreign minister to Pakistan in nearly 20 years, highlighting the deepening strategic partnership between the two nations.Trade figures show Canadian exports to Pakistan rose 65% to $499.7 million in 2025, with imports at $696 million.The two countries also advanced negotiations on a Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement in June 2026.The visit underscores the importance of the vibrant Pakistani diaspora in Canada and aims to further strengthen diplomatic and economic ties.
