Cassava Technologies has strengthened Africa’s cloud infrastructure by designating Africa Data Centres (ADC) in Johannesburg as a Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute Metro peering location.

This makes ADC the first such site on the continent, positioning Johannesburg among global tech hubs offering enhanced cloud resilience and secure connectivity.

Through its cloud and cybersecurity arm, Liquid C2, Cassava will deliver Secure CloudConnect—a fully managed service combining private cloud connectivity with integrated cybersecurity solutions.

The service leverages Liquid C2’s network across Johannesburg’s ExpressRoute Metro locations to provide organisations with secure access to Microsoft Azure.

Ziaad Suleman of Cassava highlighted this as a milestone for Africa’s digital infrastructure, reflecting growing confidence in the continent’s ability to support next-gen cloud and AI services.The JHB1 facility now serves as the second peering location in Johannesburg, enabling redundancy for critical applications.This aligns with regulatory demands for operational resilience, cybersecurity, and data protection.Secure CloudConnect helps businesses meet these standards by reducing service disruptions and simplifying complex cloud environments.
