CBI finds no evidence linking Sanjeev Mukhiya to 2024 NEET-UG paper leak

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has concluded that there is no evidence to implicate Sanjeev Mukhiya, the main suspect in the 2024 NEET-UG paper leak case, in the theft or distribution of the exam questions.Mukhiya, who was arrested in April 2024 after evading capture for 11 months, was part of multiple interstate exam scams.

However, the CBI did not file charges against him, stating that their investigation found no proof of his involvement in the specific NEET-UG 2024 leak.Instead, the agency filed charges against 45 others in Patna. The leak allegations emerged after the exam results were announced on June 4, 2024, following the test on May 5.

The CBI emphasized that while Mukhiya was initially suspected due to his history in other leaks, their thorough investigation confirmed that all conspirators were identified without linking him to this particular case. The Union government also reiterated there was no proof of large-scale leaks. This case highlights the complexities of investigating exam fraud and the challenges in proving direct involvement in such high-profile cases.
