The Central Crime Branch (CCB) Women Protection Squad has arrested 11 members of an alleged honey-trap and robbery syndicate operating in Bengaluru.The gang lured victims through classified ads on the Locanto app, posing as women to trick men into meeting them.After victims arrived at the designated location, they were assaulted and robbed of cash and mobile phones.The arrests followed a complaint from a Whitefield resident who was duped by the gang.Police seized two autorickshaws, four two-wheelers, 13 mobile phones, and cash used in the crime.Investigators revealed the gang trafficked women from other states, arranged accommodation in Bengaluru, and uploaded their photos to lure customers.The case was registered at K.G.Halli Police Station after a swift investigation that tracked down all accused within 24 hours.This incident highlights the growing threat of online scams and the need for vigilance against such criminal activities.
