The murder trial of former Nairobi Central Police Station Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Samson Talaam and five co-accused has begun at Kibera High Court.

The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Renson Ingonga, stated the case will prove that Talaam and his accomplices assaulted Albert Omondi Ojwang to death inside the station and attempted to cover up the crime.A CCTV technician testified that the DVR at the police station was formatted, wiping crucial footage.The technician, Aloni Okwako, found no recordings for June 6-7, 2025, indicating deliberate data erasure.IPOA officers documented the tampered system, revealing internal components removed before forensic examination.

The evidence suggests the CCTV storage media were wiped, raising questions about the circumstances of Ojwang's death and whether video evidence was deliberately destroyed to conceal the crime.
