Cebu Pacific, the budget airline, is set to become Southeast Asia's first low-cost carrier to offer Starlink internet service on its flights.The rollout, expected in 2027, will provide passengers with faster and more reliable connectivity compared to traditional inflight Wi-Fi systems.This upgrade aims to support high-definition streaming, online gaming, messaging, and work applications during flights.

Additionally, the service will improve communication for flight crews and operations teams, enabling quicker information exchange while aircraft are in service.The airline has not yet disclosed which aircraft or routes will receive the service first, nor the pricing details for passengers.

This initiative is part of a broader agreement involving airlines backed by US private equity firm Indigo Partners, with over 1,000 aircraft across multiple regions set to adopt Starlink.Cebu Pacific's president emphasized that reliable high-speed connectivity has become an expectation for modern travelers.The move aligns with growing demand for seamless digital experiences even during air travel.
