The civic movement March and March has condemned a prophecy by Zimbabwean prophet Dr Obey Tichafa Mukanhairi, who claimed civic movement leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma would be assassinated if she did not change her ways.

Mukanhairi, with over 320,000 Facebook followers, alleged he saw an inkabi (hitman) monitoring Ngobese-Zuma and warned of a potential assassination if she failed to reform by November 2026.The prophecy sparked backlash, with many South Africans arguing the prophet should face legal consequences if harm came to Ngobese-Zuma.March and March spokesperson Sandile Dube called the comments 'highly irresponsible' and warned they could incite violence.The movement's leaders, who rely on SAPS for protection, urged the government to conduct a threat analysis amid rising dangers.

Despite the risks, Dube emphasized the movement's commitment to its campaign against illegal immigration, urging South Africans to continue peaceful protests within the law.
