NEW DELHI: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), led by founder Abhijeet Dipke, held its first public protest in Delhi on Saturday following online satirical responses to comments attributed to the Chief Justice of India. The protest demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged examination irregularities.

Dipke arrived from Boston in the morning, and after police coordination, the protest was conducted peacefully at Jantar Mantar instead of the initially planned Parliament Street Police Station.

The demonstration drew participants across generations, including schoolchildren, college students, working professionals, parents, and elderly citizens.Supporters carried the national flag, copies of the Constitution, books, flowers, and placards calling for accountability.Several wore cockroach masks and t-shirts with the movement’s symbol.Chants of 'Vande Mataram' and calls for the education minister's resignation echoed through the venue.Environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk also joined in solidarity. The protest ended around 3.30 pm due to Dipke feeling unwell.

Political reactions varied, with BJP calling it 'negative politics' while other parties like AAP, Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and Left parties expressed support.

The event highlighted growing public concern over repeated examination leaks and accountability in educational institutions, drawing attention from across India.
