Supporters of former President Benigno 'PNoy' Aquino III commemorated the 10th anniversary of the landmark South China Sea arbitral victory during a mass held at his gravesite in Manila Memorial Park.

The event, organized by the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation (NCAF) and the Liberal Party, highlighted PNoy's pivotal role in initiating the 2013 arbitration case against China, which led to the 2016 ruling invalidating China's nine-dash line claims.

NCAF Executive Director Kiko Aquino Dee emphasized the importance of peaceful dispute resolution, noting the ruling's significance in upholding international law.Liberal Party leader Erin Tañada echoed these sentiments, stressing the need to defend territorial rights without violence.Fisherfolk communities and allied groups also participated, expressing gratitude for PNoy's advocacy.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reiterated the Philippines' stance on China's maritime claims, joining 13 other nations in reaffirming the arbitral tribunal's decision.Despite China's refusal to recognize the ruling, the event underscored the enduring relevance of PNoy's legacy in Philippine diplomacy.
