AICC general secretary K C Venugopal met with key Punjab functionaries, emphasizing that complaints about internal party matters should be addressed through designated channels.The party stressed that open dissent provides political fodder to rivals and is unacceptable.State incharge Bhupesh Baghel reported on dissidence to Venugopal, indicating no change in state leadership.Sources noted that the party rejects 'armtwisting' and prioritizes discipline for upcoming state elections.

While state leaders expressed disappointment over not becoming state president, Congress reaffirmed Warring's position and appointed Channi and Randhawa to election-related panels.

A senior AICC leader remains cautious about the state leaders' reaction to the discipline message but remains optimistic about restoring normalcy.
