Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth faces criticism for speech to Navy sailors during Singapore visit
Rep.Tom Kean Jr.(R-NJ), a Republican congressman, has been absent from the House since early March 2026, missing 88 votes due to reported personal medical issues.Despite this, recent reports indicate that Kean has continued to incur campaign travel expenses and authorize trips for his staff.
In April, while already absent, Kean paid for trips using Amtrak, Uber, and Lyft, with ride-share expenses taking place in San Francisco and train travel originating in Washington, D.C.Additionally, he approved trips for staff members to Las Vegas and Middleburg, Virginia, funded by special interest groups.Beyond travel, Kean has reportedly continued trading stocks, with the total value of transactions ranging between $50,008 and $190,000.
The situation has raised questions about accountability and transparency, highlighting the discrepancy between his claimed inability to perform official duties and his ongoing financial and travel activities.
