Cunard Announces Refurbishment of Queen Victoria Cruise Ship

The Queen Victoria, one of Cunard's oldest luxury cruise ships launched in 2007, will undergo a major refurbishment from 17 October to 5 November 2026 at Damen Shiprepair in Rotterdam.The 2,000-guest vessel, last upgraded in 2017, will feature new decor, additional cabins, and the introduction of a wellness cafe.

Katie McAlister, Cunard's president, emphasized the ship's heritage and British elegance, stating that the upgrades aim to enhance guest experiences while preserving its distinctive character.

Key changes include revamping iconic spaces like the Grand Lobby and Queens Room, updating premium suites such as Queens Grill and Princess Grill, and introducing eight new Britannia staterooms with floor-to-ceiling windows.The Pavilion Wellness Cafe, previously available on Queen Anne and Queen Elizabeth, will also be added.The ship will return to service on 7 November 2026 for Mediterranean, Norwegian fjords, and Canary Islands voyages.

This renovation underscores Cunard's commitment to maintaining the Queen Victoria's legacy while modernizing its offerings for contemporary travelers.
