The Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) recorded a significant rise in equity turnover during Week 29 of 2026, with transactions totaling TZS 177.04 billion, a +10.75% increase compared to the previous week.TCCL emerged as the top-performing stock, surging 7.21%, followed by MKCB (+5.29%) and TBL (+2.82%).The total market capitalization stood at TZS 35,724.27 billion, with the DSEI (Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange Index) advancing 0.72% and the Industrial & Allied index rising 1.86%.The bond market also saw a surge in turnover, reaching TZS 174.83 billion, a +88.80% week-on-week increase.The growth in equity turnover was attributed to heightened transaction activity, particularly in June 2026, when transaction values spiked by 198.04% compared to May 2026.This surge contributed to higher transaction fees and securities transfer fees, boosting revenue and profits for the exchange.
