The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed, has strongly condemned reports of a foreign lobbying firm allegedly working with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to circulate old documents about President Bola Tinubu in the US.

In a statement, the minister called the actions counterproductive and damaging to Nigeria's international reputation, urging opposition leaders to focus on supporting government efforts to tackle insecurity, strengthen national unity, and improve citizens' welfare instead of undermining the presidency.

He emphasized that Nigeria's democratic choices are determined by its people, not foreign entities, and highlighted President Tinubu's international recognition for security cooperation.The minister warned that promoting divisive narratives abroad would backfire, as Nigerians will renew Tinubu's mandate in 2027.He also called on opposition politicians to engage constructively and avoid actions that could destabilize the country ahead of the 2027 elections.
