The Delhi Police has officially stated that no permission was sought or granted for the planned protest march by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) towards Parliament on July 20.

The protest is part of a larger political campaign demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged mismanagement of competitive examinations.

The police emphasized that prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) are in effect across New Delhi, banning public gatherings of five or more people except at the designated protest site at Jantar Mantar.

Activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on a hunger strike since June 28, was forcibly removed from the protest site by police and taken to Safdarjung Hospital.

His wife, Gitanjali Angmo, stated that Wangchuk would end his fast if political leaders assured him the education accountability issue would be addressed during the upcoming Parliament session.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke has also joined the hunger strike, calling for nationwide peaceful protests against what he describes as a 'dictatorship.' The Monsoon Session of Parliament begins on July 20, adding urgency to the political standoff.The police warned that violators of the prohibitory orders could face prosecution under BNSS and other laws.
