A Detroit woman has detailed her severe ordeal after contracting cyclosporiasis from contaminated lettuce at a Taco Bell, experiencing up to 30 to 40 bathroom trips daily.Ella-Salone Jones, who was hospitalized in June and July, described the debilitating symptoms, which include explosive diarrhea.

The outbreak, linked to shredded iceberg lettuce served at Taco Bell locations in Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia, has resulted in over 4,000 cases and 300 hospitalizations.

Jones, now pursuing legal action against Taco Bell and Taylor Farms, faces complications from her Stage 5 kidney disease, preventing her from leaving the hospital.Federal health officials initially reported a false positive for cyclosporiasis in Taylor Farms lettuce but later retracted the claim.

Legal representative Ron Simon asserts that the outbreak remains tied to the supplier, despite the false positive, as the implicated lettuce has already been consumed.The FDA has warned against consuming lettuce from Taco Bell or other restaurants with recalled produce.Simon claims 10-20% of his clients have been hospitalized, emphasizing the severity of the outbreak and the need for accountability.
