The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has confirmed that all security protocols are fully operational ahead of President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.'s State of the Nation Address (SONA) scheduled for July 27, 2026.

DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla stated that a command conference was held to finalize preparations, with over 20,000 police officers deployed across key areas.

Starting July 24, the Philippine National Police-National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will activate full alert status, though routine anti-crime operations and patrols will continue uninterrupted.

Enhanced security has been implemented around critical protest sites such as the Batasang Pambansa, People Power Monument, Malacañang, Liwasang Bonifacio, Pasay City Senate, and the US Embassy.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) also announced alternate traffic routes to manage congestion near the House of Representatives, particularly along Commonwealth Avenue and IBP Road.These measures aim to ensure public safety while allowing peaceful demonstrations during the SONA event.
