Prime Minister Mwigulu Lameck Nchemba is set to officiate the seventh edition of the NBC Dodoma Marathon, which promises to be a significant event for Tanzania's capital.The marathon, scheduled for July 26 at Jamhuri Stadium, aims to attract around 13,000 runners from across Tanzania and abroad.

Regional Commissioner Rosemary Senyamule praised the National Bank of Commerce (NBC) and its partners for their preparations, highlighting the event's role in boosting Dodoma's economy through tourism, hospitality, and retail sectors.

The marathon also supports critical social causes, including maternal health initiatives, heart surgeries for children, and the Bone Marrow Transplant Fund for sickle cell disease patients.Winners of the men’s and women’s full marathon categories will receive Sh11.5 million each, with an additional Sh5 million bonus for record-breaking performances.

NBC's Godwin Semunyu confirmed logistical readiness, with ancillary events like the Dodoma Wine Festival and marathon expo planned to enhance the experience.The event underscores Dodoma's growing status as a hub for international sporting events.
