The Edo State Police Command has arrested 45 suspects linked to violent crimes and rescued 38 kidnapped victims in June 2026 through coordinated operations.

Commissioner Monday Agbonika highlighted the success of intelligence-led policing and inter-agency collaboration with security agencies, vigilante groups, and community stakeholders.The arrests included 32 kidnappers, 15 cultists, and others involved in murder, rape, and armed robbery.The police emphasized that these operations demonstrate their commitment to combating criminal elements and ensuring public safety.

Agbonika praised the role of citizens in providing intelligence and reiterated the police's dedication to making Edo one of Nigeria's safest states.

The operation also involved rescuing victims from various locations, showcasing the effectiveness of joint efforts between law enforcement and community partnerships.
