The Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC) has deployed 10,000 temporary staff to manage the local government elections across the state.The commission chairman, Jonathan Aifuobhokhan, confirmed that all personnel have been trained and equipped to ensure a smooth electoral process.Voting will take place from 8:30 a.m.to 2:30 p.m., with results transmitted manually.

The commission emphasized strict adherence to the Federal Republic of Nigeria Constitution and Edo State Electoral Law to guarantee a free, fair, and transparent election.Special logistics were arranged to reach remote and riverine communities, ensuring all eligible voters can participate.

The police command also deployed 1,300 personnel to maintain security across all 18 local government areas, polling units, and critical infrastructure.Officers were directed to provide impartial policing and coordinate with other security agencies to prevent disruptions.Aifuobhokhan assured residents that all preparations are complete, including transportation, communication systems, and security coordination.The election aims to reflect the will of the people through a credible and peaceful process.
