EL-Lab Maintains ISO 15189:2022 Accreditation, Reinforces Trust in Lagos Healthcare

EL-Lab Medical Diagnostics and Research Centre, a leading medical diagnostic center in Lagos, has successfully retained its ISO 15189:2022 accreditation from the Nigeria National Accreditation System (NiNAS).

This reaccreditation confirms the lab's continued compliance with international standards for medical laboratory testing, which cover sample handling, testing procedures, staff competence, and quality management.

As the first indigenous medical laboratory in Nigeria to achieve ISO 15189 status a decade ago, EL-Lab remains one of the few labs in the country (fewer than 50 in total) meeting this rigorous standard. The accreditation, valid until 2026, is also recognized by the Medical Laboratory Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), underscoring its credibility.

This achievement highlights EL-Lab's commitment to quality assurance, staff training, and process improvement, ensuring reliable results for patients and clinicians.

The reaccreditation process involved a thorough assessment by NiNAS to verify that the lab's systems, processes, and personnel meet global best practices.

By maintaining this accreditation, EL-Lab strengthens its role as a trusted provider in Lagos and the broader Nigerian healthcare system, offering confidence in diagnostic accuracy and reliability. The Managing Director, Dr.Elochukwu Adibo, emphasized that this recognition reflects the lab's dedication to excellence in medical testing services.
