A celebratory parade for Arsenal’s Premier League success in London on Sunday was marred by a series of public safety incidents, prompting large-scale emergency responses and police action.

Thousands of supporters lined the streets to mark the occasion, with many fans climbing trees, traffic lights, and even rooftops in an attempt to secure better views of the event.

Emergency services were required to rescue approximately 75 people who found themselves in precarious positions at height, highlighting the risks taken during the crowded celebrations.

The London Fire Brigade also attended a separate incident at a hotel fire, which is believed to have been triggered by a stray flare used during the festivities.

Officials issued warnings to supporters, urging them to avoid using pyrotechnics and not to climb structures, stressing the danger posed to both individuals and emergency responders.Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that 16 arrests were made in connection with incidents around the parade route.Offences included drunk and disorderly conduct, drug-related offences, sexual assault, and assaults on emergency workers. In addition, officers responded to a stabbing on Hornsey Road, where a man was taken to hospital and his condition remains under assessment.

Although the event was intended as a jubilant celebration for fans, the scale of disorder led to debris-strewn streets and multiple safety interventions, underscoring the challenges of managing large, spontaneous public gatherings in central London.
