The Fraser Valley Regional District has issued an urgent evacuation order for remaining residents of Boston Bar, British Columbia, due to a new wildfire that has rapidly expanded south of the community.

The fire, which tripled in size Tuesday evening due to strong winds, has forced additional evacuations in areas like Hell's Gate and Scuzzy Creek forest service road.Highway 1 is closed in both directions, with Highway 5 serving as an alternate route for evacuees.The wildfire, now covering approximately 1,000 hectares, is classified as out of control and is linked to the Brunswick Creek wildfire complex.Officials note that while 450 properties were evacuated last week, some residents have chosen to stay despite the risks.A reception center has been established in Kamloops to assist evacuees.
