Tanzania Mourns Passing of Leonard Mususa, Former MCL Chairman
Residents and transport operators in Mbezi and surrounding areas in Dar es Salaam have received improved access to fuel services following the official launch of the Evosha Energies Fuel Station at Mbezi Makabe junction.
The new facility is designed to respond to the increasing demand for fuel in the area, which has been driven by rapid urban growth and expanding transport activities.
The launch event was officiated by Ubungo District Commissioner Albert Msando, who highlighted that such investments are essential in ensuring essential services are brought closer to the people.
He explained that the growing population and rising number of vehicles, including bodaboda operators and private motorists, have created a strong need for more accessible fuel stations within suburban communities.
According to Mr Msando, the new station will not only ease access to fuel but will also support local economic activities by reducing the time residents spend travelling long distances to refuel.
This is expected to improve efficiency in daily transport operations and enhance productivity for both individuals and businesses operating in the area.
Evosha Energies Sales Director Justin Shengelema stated that the company is committed to expanding reliable and convenient fuel service points in strategic locations across Dar es Salaam. He added that the Mbezi station is part of a broader plan to strengthen fuel distribution infrastructure in fast-growing urban settlements.
The development reflects a wider trend of private sector investment in fuel infrastructure across Tanzania’s major cities, particularly in suburban zones experiencing rapid population growth.
The station is expected to play a key role in reducing congestion at existing fuel stations and improving service delivery for transport users in Mbezi and nearby communities.
