A chaotic cross-border police chase has concluded tragically with the death of an armed driver in New South Wales.The incident began when Queensland Police responded to reports of a man armed with a gun in a white ute near Robina Town Centre on Saturday night.After evading officers for over two hours, the 25-year-old man crossed into NSW and continued his escape eastward toward the Gold Coast.NSW Police pursued him through multiple suburbs, deploying road spikes twice but failing to stop him.The chase culminated when the driver stopped down an embankment on Kyogle Rd, Kunghur, where he was found unconscious in his vehicle.Despite immediate CPR efforts, the man was confirmed dead.Authorities have declared a critical incident, with police negotiators attempting to communicate with him before his death.The gun seized from the car will undergo forensic analysis, and an independent review of the incident is underway.Crime Stoppers has been urged to provide information about the case.
