India and New Zealand deepen defense ties amid regional security concerns
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has arrived in Turkiye for a two-day official visit, according to state media.
During his visit, he is set to hold key meetings with Turkish military and political leaders to discuss mutual interests, regional security, and bilateral defense cooperation.
The visit follows a similar trip by Turkish Land Forces commander General Metin Tokel to Pakistan last month, where they exchanged views on professional matters and regional stability.Munir's arrival was met with a warm welcome, highlighting the significance of Pakistan-Turkey military ties.
The meetings are expected to strengthen collaboration between the armed forces of both nations, particularly in areas like maritime security and counterterrorism. This diplomatic engagement underscores the growing strategic partnership between Pakistan and Turkiye, despite geopolitical complexities. The visit also comes amid ongoing regional tensions, with both sides likely to emphasize the importance of stability and mutual security.
The interactions between the two defense chiefs reflect a broader trend of military diplomacy in South Asia, aimed at fostering cooperation and addressing shared challenges.
