Former Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier Dishon Adam, who joined the Russian army in 2023, has shared a detailed account of his experiences fighting in the Russian military.

After serving 10 years in the KDF, Dishon resigned due to PTSD and family separation, then joined the Russian army after his TikTok fitness videos caught a recruiter's attention.

Assigned to the Wagner Group special forces, he faced advanced battlefield technology like drones, landmines, and explosives, which were more sophisticated than anything he encountered in Somalia.

He described the psychological toll of constant drone surveillance, the risk of panic leading to death, and the emotional trauma of losing a Kenyan colleague on his first mission.Dishon emphasized the survival strategies required, such as staying still to avoid drone detection, and the overwhelming fear of death at any moment.His story highlights the dangers of modern warfare and the personal sacrifices of soldiers in conflict zones.
