DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua has refuted claims that Kalonzo Musyoka has been chosen as the United Opposition's presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking from his Wamunyoro residence on July 4, Gachagua clarified that no official agreement exists and emphasized confidentiality around the opposition's choice.While maintaining an alliance with Musyoka, he stressed that the flag bearer remains undetermined.

Analyst Jimi Wanjigi criticized the opposition for relying on ethnic coalitions rather than a national agenda, warning that fielding Musyoka would hand President Ruto an easy victory.
