Lubanzi Dube, a 12-year-old from Gauteng, has made history by becoming the first Black South African in 26 years to win the prestigious World Startup Forum Championship in Switzerland.His innovation, SolEase, addresses foot health challenges through specially designed shoe soles for people with flat feet.The project was inspired by his personal struggle with mobility issues, aiming to improve comfort and well-being.Lubanzi's mother, Nomtha Dube, revealed that he attended a business school on weekends while attending a regular school during the week.The family was overwhelmed by his achievement, especially considering he competed against over 400 global participants.His confidence in public speaking surprised them, as he initially struggled with self-doubt.

The project, which started as a prototype, has gained unexpected commercial interest despite the family's initial focus on creating samples rather than selling products.They are now preparing to scale production and seek investors in China to manufacture the soles.The family's rapid success highlights the potential of youth innovation in addressing everyday health challenges.
