General Aamer Raza, newly promoted to four-star rank and appointed Commander of the National Strategic Command (CNSC), met with Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

The meeting followed his appointment by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who praised his leadership for the CNSC role, which was established under the 27th Constitutional Amendment.The CNSC now oversees nuclear command previously held by the abolished Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC).Raza was presented with a guard of honour upon arrival at GHQ and laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-i-Shuhada.His appointment marks a key shift in Pakistan's military structure, emphasizing unified command and strategic oversight.The 27th Amendment also grants the CDF sole authority to recommend CNSC appointments, ensuring military autonomy in critical roles.
