Girlguiding has introduced a significant overhaul of its uniform range, marking the first major change in over three decades. The new design prioritises practicality, comfort and sustainability, allowing members to express their individuality while remaining part of the organisation. The updated range includes 30 clothing items, 15 accessories and neckerchiefs, with prices starting at £12 for a T-shirt.

Key features such as hidden pockets in waistbands, thumb holes and convertible badge sashes that double as cross-body bags have been incorporated based on feedback from thousands of Guides, Rainbows, Brownies and Rangers.

Children like Isy, 12, and Poppy, seven, highlighted the practicality of the new designs, with Poppy noting the inclusion of secret pockets for storing badges.

Chief executive Felicity Oswald emphasised that the redesign balances heritage with modern aesthetics, while Tracey Foster, Chief Girl Guide, encouraged members to continue wearing their preferred uniforms until replacements are needed.

A survey revealed 93% of girls aged six to 16 felt most comfortable when able to personalise their appearance, underscoring the organisation's commitment to empowering self-expression through its new uniform range.
