Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has accused Siaya Governor James Orengo and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna of organizing violence during a protest near St.Stephen's ACK Cathedral in Kisumu to create public sympathy.

Wanga claims the attack, which left one dead and nine motorcycles torched, was staged by leaders who hired goons armed with bows and arrows—weapons unfamiliar to local protests.She emphasized that Kisumu communities traditionally use stones and rungus, not bows, suggesting the violence was orchestrated.Wanga also linked the incident to similar confrontations in Keumbu, Kisii, where hired groups with bows and arrows caused clashes.She argued that leaders inside the church provoked the youth outside, rather than an external attack.The incident occurred during a political event for the Linda Mwananchi opposition movement, with Orengo and Sifuna evacuated amid chaos.Wanga called for an end to importing agitators and highlighted the need to address political violence rooted in leaders' actions.
