The Glasgow Commonwealth Games opened with a theatrical ceremony featuring King Charles III and Queen Camilla emerging from a Tardis, a nod to the Doctor Who franchise.

The event, held at The Hydro, showcased Scotland's cultural heritage through performances by Nathan Evans, Tom Walker, and KT Tunstall, alongside symbolic elements like the Loch Ness monster and a giant garden stage.The ceremony highlighted Glasgow's history from its industrial past to its vibrant nightlife, with over 2000 athletes set to compete.The royal couple's appearance, while whimsical, underscored the event's significance as a global sporting and cultural gathering.
